Mani Lit Fest Short Story Competition 2025

​Are you a writer, or have you ever thought of writing a story? Our free short story competition is a great opportunity for writers and aspiring writers everywhere.

​

We are looking for stories of between 1000 and 2000 words.

 

The theme of the story is:​

Blue

You are free to interpret the theme in any way you choose.

​

We are thrilled to announce that this year's competition will be judged by Lulu Keating.​

First Prize: €100

Second Prize: €50

The competition is free to enter, one entry per person.

The competition is open to everyone, anywhere in the world (including all participants in Mani Lit Fest, with the exception of any organisers directly involved in running the competition).

Stories should be between 1000 and 2000 words.  Please add the word count at the top of your document.

Send your entry to manilitfest@yahoo.com by the closing date of 30th November 2025.

Please send your entry in English and in either .doc or .docx format. Sorry we can not accept other formats.

All entries will be judged anonymously. Please include the name you wish to be known by only in the body of the email when you enter.

By entering the competition, you give us the right to publish your story on our website if chosen.

Otherwise, the winner retains all rights to their work

First and Second prize will be given in the form of book tokens if available or paid into a bank account if book tokens are unavailable..
