The retelling of ancient myths and legends has become a very popular genre, and that shouldn’t be too surprising: it's no coincidence these tales have lasted the centuries. However, the context for their retelling has changed repeatedly over time. Working as a medieval minstrel for more than twenty years, I’ve gained plenty of experience in reshaping and presenting ancient tales for a modern audience. In this workshop we will discuss what lends the myths their power, then go on to work on our own versions of one or two specific stories, before presenting them to each other. Expect collaborative discussion, writing exercises - and a touch of drama. It’ll be fun!
